Magnago Lampugnani's master plan, which was adopted in 2001, Novartis created its own team for long-term planning. V. Magnago Lampugnani's idea of an interdisciplinary collaboration of the main disciplines in the treatment of the Novartis Campus in Basel found ripple in the composition of the Campus Workshop, which I had the privilege to lead. The representatives in the workshop were Prof. Dr. V. Magnago Lampugnani for urban design, P. Walker for landscape architecture, H. Szeemann (later Dr. J. Burckhardt) for art, A. Schulz for lighting, and A. Fletcher (later M. Rock) for identity. This group worked on the main campus strategies, the most important part of which was public spaces.
